Bob:
I first read your post a few days ago and I have to admit, it has haunted me since my first reading.
Your recollection on how you felt entering the academy and your sense of loss upon leaving it really hit home for me, as I’m sure it did for many, if not most of us.
What has stayed with me is your comment about “snatching” a patch of grass from Senior Terrace. I suspect you were 16 at the time. At that tender age your realized you were experiencing a piece of history. I trust that your insight has continued throughout your life and has served you well.
Plan to attend the next reunion. I want to buy you a drink!

I can’t find Bob Meulemans’ post, but would like to read it.

Jim,
Thanks for the response. I would love to attend the Reunions and have tried to find a way every year, however I currently Coach a Youth Football Team here in Florida and we are still playing our games at that time. So I have to make a choice my kids or the reunion….. The kids always win!!! I will make it to a reunion some day, soon as I can. When I do I am sure a flood of wonderful memories will come back to me and I will gladly accept that drink, with Honor and I hope I can return the gesture. I will always be PROUD of my association as a Cadet at PMA and will continue to tell my children and grandchildren about my experiences. Until that time I will be anxious and deligent in planning my return to PMA.
