Well,we had a great reunion in Boerne. Many old friends reunited. It was almost as if we had never missed a beat and were still the same ole Kadets back on the campus at Peacock. I am glad for all that attended but saddened at the same time for all that didn’t! It was such a good reunion but could have been so much better at the same time. We learned a very saddening statistic. Between the 2010 and this years 2012 reunion,we lost 26 of our classmates. We are not getting any younger and the sad truth is that we will loose more before 2014.
We also heard stories from the past of fellow Kadets who attended their first reunions after graduation maybe after 40 or 50 years ago only to pass before the next reunion. They had terminal illnesses and did not disclose this fact at the time they attended. This greatly saddens me. Just think! We have no guarantee we will open our eyes tomorrow. We are not producing any new Kadets since Peacock closed in 1973. For those of you who have not been active or attending I plead, consider these facts! Mark your calenders for the first weekend of October 2014 and don’t let anything interfere! Do it for the rest of us but most of all do it for yourselves. We miss all of you and would love to see you again!
